Our Belief
The sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — each possessing all attributes of deity.
God created humans to have fellowship with him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our separation from Him. Salvation comes only through God’s grace and must be received personally by repentance and faith.
Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who received Grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He will return to earth to consummate history.
The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church. The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need. At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Only believing Christians will enjoy eternal fellowship with God in heaven.
Another way of understanding our beliefs is the following:
We Believe:
- that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who rose from the dead.
I Corinthians 15: 1-8 - that the Bible is the inspired Word of God - a lamp unto our feet and a light for our path.
II Timothy 3:16 - that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god.
Romans 3:23 - that forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord.
John 3:16 - that those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith and be baptized into Him. Romans 10:9,
Acts 2:38 - that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved.
Ephesians 4:1-14 - that Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
I Thessalonians 4: 13-18
