Our History
Westbrook Christian Church is a non-denominational church started by Mont Mitchell on October 6, 1996 in Bolingbrook, IL. Bolingbrook is a suburban community located 25 miles southwest of the great city of Chicago. Prior to the first service, nine months of extensive planning, marketing and research was conducted.
This extensive research indicated a great need for an evangelical church that would be attractive to all ages, races, and needs. Westbrook was then started with the assistance and the oversight of the Chicago District Evangelistic Association to meet the growing needs of this emerging and diverse community. Our goal was to point people to Jesus Christ and lead them to a full, satisfying and complete relationship with Him.
The first service was held at Oak View Elementary School with 480 people present. For the first year of it’s existence Westbrook averaged nearly 200 in attendance each week.
Today, Westbrook hold it’s services at their Ministry Center and Worship facility which is located at 1175 Lily Cache Lane in Bolingbrook. There are five weekend services at 8:30, 10:00, 11:30, 1:30 and 5:30 each Sunday with over 1,000 people attending.
