Giving Christ First Place!
January 25, 2010
There is no better time than today to begin making the best choices for your life. Here at Westbrook one of the ministries that can help you make good choices is called First Place!
At it’s core First Place is a biblical approach for weight management which puts Christ first and improves every area of a person’s life: spiritual, physical, mental and emotional. This Christ-centered, balanced weight-loss program has guided hundreds of thousands of people to a healthy lifestyle and a closer walk with the Lord.
Our next 13 week session will be starting in mid-January. It’s not too late to be part of this excellent ministry! If you would like more information about this program, please contact Sandy Tynan at sandyt1024@comcast.net.

A Special Note From Pastor Mont
January 15, 2010
Without a doubt, you are aware of the horrible disaster that has fallen upon Haiti because of the devastating earthquake that hit on January 13. They are estimating that there may be more than 100,000 deaths. American relief organizations and churches have been assessing the greatest way to help the hurting in Haiti and the leaders of Westbrook have been doing the same. At this present time, it seems that the greatest thing that we can do is to provide funds for relief operations. As a response Westbrook will be taking a special collection this weekend for Haiti disaster relief with 100% of the funds that we collect going directly to a Cite Soleil Ministry in Port au Prince. Georgia Kurko (early staff member at Westbrook) will be administering the funds to this ministry and you can rest assured that every single dollar will go directly to aid the hurting there. Make checks payable to Westbrook or The Haiti Fund. Pastor Rick and Mindy are very familiar with this ministry even serving there in 2003.
In addition please pray for the people in Haiti. It is such a devastating event that hits very close to home. Many of you know Chris Woodard who speaks for us at Westbrook. Chris’s wife Betty is from Port au Prince, Haiti. She and her family have been desperately trying to reach family, friends and loved ones. She wrote this morning…”Sad news of our friend Yves Revielle. They finally reached him in the rubble, he was still alive, but since the hospitals were full he did not receive care in time.” Please pray for his family.
By the Way: Our Ministry friends in Port au Paix- Sonlight Academy are all fine. The two children that our KA kids support- Amos and Fedeline are fine as well. Please tell that news to your children and encourage them to pray with you for the family of the Woodard’s (their children are in KA) and so many others.
In the midst of crisis, it is the church that rises to meet the greatest needs. Please be with us this Sunday as we continue in our series “In the World of Perfect”. The theme will be Perfect Health. Trials and tragedies make that elusive but walking with Christ makes all things work out. Join me in prayer and be sure to join us Sunday!
Please keep praying for Haiti.
In Christ,
Mont

“I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.” – Mark 9:41<

Operation Christmas of Bolingbrook
October 27, 2009
For over 25 years, Operation Christmas has provided food, clothing, toys and more for residents of Bolingbrook. We will be working with our very own Lee Bush to provide a good Christmas for people here in our community. We will be collecting non-perishable food items such as canned foods, pasta, soups, beans, etc. We have been told that they always run out of peanut butter, jelly and rice, so these are high priority items. Other items we are collecting are new and gently used toys, coats and clothing. Donated items can be placed in the coatroom for collection. We will be collecting items through early December.
