Our next FMSC packing date is on Saturday, October 9 from 4:30 to 6:30PM. The reason we’re announcing it so early is because it’s Westbrook night at Feed My Starving Children and we need 100 people to volunteer on this date. Las Vegas Mission Trip – Verve Church

In March of this year, Verve Church opened with a BANG and we are heading back out there October 13-18, 2010. Come and experience the challenge and fun of helping the people that live and work surrounding the Las Vegas strip come to know and love Jesus Christ. The cost of the trip is $600 and includes air, lodging, and transportation. Las Vegas is a town that lives, eats, and breathes sin. We can only change that one person and one heart at a time! Arizona Mission Trip – October 3-10 / Arizona Reservation Ministries

Have you been inspired to spend a portion of your life this year on a Mission Trip? If so, then another mission trip opportunity is here for you to pray about and consider. A 2010 Westbrook team to Arizona Reservation Ministries is forming and we would love to have you contemplate being involved. The cost of this year’s trip is $1,025.00 which includes air, meals, lodging, ground transportation and ministry expenses. Awana Leader Opportunity

Each year we see a significant increase in the number of children reached through the Westbrook Awana club. We expect this year to be no exception. With more clubbers comes the need for more leaders. Breakthrough Urban Ministries

Breakthrough Urban Ministries restores hope to the hurting by providing Christ-centered holistic services to individuals and families in Chicago’s East Garfield Park community. Westbrook partners with Breakthrough by providing and sharing a home-cooked meal with men’s and women’s shelteron the first Friday and Saturday of every month. Creative Arts / Music Ministry Team

Are you looking for a fun and fulfilling place to serve here at Westbrook? We have several “behind-the-scenes” volunteer spots within our Creative Arts / Music Ministry Team. Our immediate need is for the following:

tHis Generation serves those birth through high school here at Westbrook.  If you are looking for a place to serve and you know (or think) that working with kids and students (or in support role) is right for you, we would love to talk with you.  tHis Generation requires approximately 185 volunteers to minister in an efficient way and we would love to have you join the team!  We’ve begun our recruiting campaign for our next ministry year, so if you’re interested, stop by the tHis Generation table in the lobby and talk with us.  You can also write “tHis Generation” on your In-Touch card or call the Ministry Center at (630) 759-4320.

Break Through Ministries

Break Through Manna Center
Put some feet to your faith and join us on the first Friday of every month as we show the love of Jesus in a practical and tangible way. You’ll get to know others from Westbrook as we partner together with Breakthrough Urban Ministries (an inner city ministry that provides outreach and support for homeless, unemployed men over the age of 22) and feed up to 30 homeless men. This program focuses on both emergency and long-term needs and is designed to help men break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

Break Through Joshua Center
Like the Manna Center, Breakthrough’s Women’s Services Program provides support for women in crisis. Programming focuses on both emergency and long-term needs and is designed to help women break the cycle of homelessness, abandonment, addictions, domestic violence and abuse. Join us on the first Saturday morning of every month as we show the love of Jesus in a practical and tangible way. You’ll get to know other Westbrookers as we partner together with Breakthrough Urban Ministries and feed up to 30 homeless women.
