Mar 23
It’s Sunday afternoon. Westbrook is in the midst of her 7th and final Easter Service. Gente Unida is holding a service right now that I must get to. What a weekend! What a God we serve. Thank you Jesus for dying for us… more than that Thank You for rising again!

Live like you were dying…
Thanks pastor for your words of encouragement and challenge to live as though we only have two weeks to live.
As I meditated on your sermon, I tried to “transport” myself back in time, to a place amongst the group of twleve that were close to Christ throughout his ministry. I imagined myself sitting and listening to several of the most compelling sermons ever given. I observed miracles that would astound and convert even the most confirmed, true atheist. At the heart of it all, my friend the “Messiah” is holding on to a constant theme- Only what you do for the kingdom of Heaven will last. He mentions that he is the only way to the kingdom. Man, did we pick the best friend to have or what?! Suddenly, it all becomes too clear, too quickly. In order to have eternal life, we have to die…not just spritually to sin, but physically as well. At that point, I found myself “wavering.” This life is all I know. Is there another way? That’s when I returned to my present- day thoughts. Thousands of years later, the call is still the same. The way is still the same. My “legs” of conviction are more sturdy some days than others. That’s when the importance of the church body becomes so important to me. It is a blessing to have a church like Westbrook in my community. My family really enjoyed attending this Sunday. We will continue to worship and pray with the congregation.
