Church Planting No Comments »

JerusalemToday is the day that I leave for my Pilgrimage to Israel. I am sooo ready and sooo pumped. I fly to Atlanta this afternoon. I will then meet up with the rest of this group tomorrow afternoon in Atlanta. We fly to Frankfort, Germany and then on to Tel Aviv. We will be spending 7 days at the Sea of Galilee and then six days in Jerusalem. I will for sure show you pictures and blog about this amazing experience when I get home. Please pray for me and our entire group. May God bless you as He speaks to me over the next many days.

Give Me A Break!

Give me a breakJust when you think you’ve seen and heard it all, I came across this story that flashed across the AP wires.
It seems that Police in St. Augustine, FL have arrested a motorist they say had a 24 pack of beer strapped in with a seat belt but had a 16 month old girl unrestrained in the back seat with the toddler’s mother. Tina D. Williams was pulled over in St. Augustine for allegedly running a red light. A 24 pack of Busch beer was strapped in with the passenger seat belt according to an arrest report. The young girl was in the back seat with 20 -year-old Amber Tedrick, who is the toddlers’ mother. Williams, 46 said she didn’t know why the child wasn’t restrained. Give me a break!    Could you say that someone has their priorities a little out of wack?

Making An Impact

Church Planting, Westbrook Church No Comments »

Simple 2008The last two Sunday’s at Westbrook have been amazing! We’ve been talking about how to be a Simple church and how to be Simply Generous. God has led our church through some interesting challenges over the last several months, but it’s been quite clear that His presence has been with us recently more than ever. It’s been encouraging to say the least. To top it off, I was blessed to meet some guests at one of our morning services today that came to visit our church because we are a multi-cultural church. After the service was over I had a chance to meet them and when I asked how they connected at Westbrook that said that they typed in Multi-cultural churches in a search engine and Westbrook popped up. They were glad they came and it was yet another confirmation that God is blessing our efforts to model the diversity of our community and the diversity of God’s kingdom. If you have a passion to be a multi- cultural ministry, set the tone and hang in there.
