Upside-Down Living: Giving

Can’t afford to give money to God? Well, maybe you can’t afford NOT to give money to God. Listen in as Pastor Rick talks about living a counter-culture life…exactly the way God intended.

Upside Down Living: Worship

Longing for the applause and adulation of others is nothing new. We love to celebrate the celebrity. All too often all we hear about is the richest, the most beautiful or the most powerful. Jesus upside down teaching in the sixth chapter of Matthew makes it clear that the center of attention for the Christ follower should never be the Christ follower him or herself! The only one who should be recognized for His greatness, the only One who should be appreciated for His goodness and universal fame is God and God alone! This is what Upside Down Worship truly looks like! But what does that really mean and just how does the Christ follower do that?

Mexico Missions

What does it mean to “be” the church? It is a good question that many well (and not-so) intentioned people have tried to answer over the years. Well, we haven’t figured it all out here at Westbrook, but we know that our 58 missionaries that went to Mexico last week are on the “right track.” Listen in as some of our missionaries share their experiences from serving at Rosarito Beach, Mexico. This is what church is about!

Upside-Down Living: Love

You’re a pretty good person…you don’t hurt people or hate people and for the most part you feel pretty good about yourself. Well…don’t be so confident just yet. Jesus tells us that those things are no credit to us and that we have to do even better. Jesus tells us in his most famous message that we must love our enemies. Listen in as Pastor Amado gives us a nearly impossible challenge.

Upside-down Living: Truth

Do you know that if you are a Christ-follower that you represent Christ when you are telling the truth, and when you are lying? Because Jesus says that he is “the truth,” our actions (truthful or not) testify to the validity of Christ’s claim. Listen in as Pastor Rick tackles this sobering issue, and you will know why it is important to let your “yes,” be yes, and your “no,” be no.

  • Verse of the Day

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. (1 Peter 4:16, ESV) (Listen)
