In a modern world, we are taught to think of family as a hindrance to our ideal, self-sufficient life. The media would have us believe that all parents are bumbling buffoons who raise spoiled and disrespectful hellions. On the other hand, some people are so absent from their family that they have no clue who their spouse is or how they lost touch with their children. Parents push children out of church to make room for possible sports careers, better grades and fatter wallets.
